The Good Friday Charity Ride for the Children's Hospital went off without a hitch and $2263.10 was raised for the appeal.
The ride was organized by the Z Owners, CBX, XS650 & Honda four clubs for the purpose of raising money and having a good time.
Unfortunately the Honda Four Club failed to attend but the Triumph Owners Group stepped up and made the day a success.
I am happy to tell you it achieved these aims and everyone had a great time.
As you can see from the few pics I took with my phone we had a good turn out of more than 80 bikes seen here lining Sydney Rd. in Brunswick outside the Highway 31 Café.
Here are the few who went to the children's hospital, Rob Roeszler's XS650 on the left and mine on the right.
Me in my Michelin man outfit!!!
I was fortunate enough to be selected to go to the Hospital to see the kids which was a very rewarding experience and the kids loved the bikes.
A patch was handed out to all who registered for the ride, here's mine
The main body of bikes went on to the Donnybrook Hotel for a BBQ and raffle to raise money, the prizes donated by the sponsors of the ride Bike Mart, HWY31 and Pakenham Motorcycle Wreckers. We thank them for their support.
Dave Taylor, our club President, was the lead rider (that's him in the green vest and black helmet) for the ride to Donnybrook and he tells me it all went off without a hitch.
Unfortunately I didn't make it Donnybrook but will next time as we hope this will become an annual event.
